Tristan Burton

Director Of New Applications at Convergent Science

Tristan Burton's work experience includes being the Director of New Applications at Convergent Science since January 2019. In this role, they oversee the development of new applications and has no set end date. Tristan previously worked at Convergent Science as a Senior Principal Engineer from July 2015 to December 2018. In this role, they were responsible for leading a technical support team, providing sales account management, coordinating and teaching software training events, and increasing territory revenue. Prior to Convergent Science, Tristan was the Owner of Volleyball Analytics since May 2011. Tristan also worked as a CFD Analyst and Systems Modeler at EtaGen, Inc. from July 2012 to July 2015, and as a Senior Staff Scientist at Achates Power from April 2008 to July 2012. Tristan's earlier experience includes being an Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach at the University of California, San Diego from August 2007 to April 2012, and an Assistant Professor at the United States Naval Academy from September 2003 to December 2006. At the Naval Academy, they taught undergraduate courses in Fluid Dynamics and Principles of Propulsion and conducted independent research in particle-laden flow simulations.

Tristan Burton has a strong educational background in mechanical engineering. Tristan obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which they attended from 1992 to 1996. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Stanford University. There, they earned both a Master of Science (M.S.) and a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, spanning from 1996 to 2003.

In addition to their formal education, Tristan Burton also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera in December 2014. This certification demonstrates their commitment to expanding their knowledge and expertise in this specific field.
