Akara Sucharitakul has a strong background in software engineering and architecture. Akara started their career as a Systems Engineer at Sun Microsystems (Thailand) Ltd., where they focused on Java technologies and APIs. Akara then joined Sun Microsystems, Inc. as a Staff Engineer and later as a Senior Staff Engineer. In these roles, they led the development of performance tools and infrastructure, improved the scalability of the BEA WebLogic application server, and worked on benchmarking JavaEE application servers. After their time at Sun, Akara joined eBay Inc. as a Principal MTS and Senior MTS, where they played a key role in designing and overseeing various aspects of the next generation platform for eBay applications. Akara also worked at PayPal as a Principal MTS, where they served as an architect for PayPal's Asynchronous Messaging Platform. Currently, Akara works at Conviva as a Principal Software Engineer, Architect, where they focus on building a high-performance and resilient real-time stream processing backbone. Throughout their career, Akara has demonstrated a strong belief in loosely coupled, asynchronous distributed systems and a commitment to software quality and test coverage.
