Uma Bhattacharyya

Uma Bhattacharyya is a Software Engineer at Convr since July 2022, with prior experience as a Software Engineering Intern at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, where assistance was provided to Professor Sever Teipei in developing DISSCO, a software for musicians. In addition, Uma served as a Data Science Intern at Spring Labs, employing Python and SQL for data analysis and machine learning model development in a Fintech environment. Earlier experience includes a research internship at the University of Illinois Chicago, focusing on natural language processing to predict suicidal ideation from Reddit text posts, with findings presented at the 3rd International Workshop on Event Analytics. Uma holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2018-2022) and graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 2018.
