Suman Puthana has held various roles in the technology industry since 2000. In 2000, they began as a Senior Software Engineer at BroadWare, where they designed and implemented a scalable storage solution for video archiving on the Linux platform. In 2007, BroadWare was acquired by Cisco Systems, where they continued as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2008, they moved to Tutor Vista as an Engineering Manager, where they worked on adding Video to the tutoring platform. In 2009, they moved to Cisco Systems as a Product Manager in the Internet of Things (IoT) Software and Systems Group. Suman also held roles as Partner Manager in the Physical Security Business Unit (PSBU) and Solutions Architect in the Physical Security & Safety Practice. In 2015, they transitioned to Enlighted Inc. as Director of Product Management, where they were responsible for the Energy Management Platform (On-premise and Cloud), SpacE and Aire. In 2017, they moved to Acuity Brands as Director of Product, IoT Platform Software, responsible for the Atrius IoT platform. In 2019, they became Co-Founder & CPO of LocalFocal, developing SaaS solutions for the hospitality industry. Currently, they are Co-Founder & CPO of Cooey Health, spearheading the development of a Digital Health platform and user friendly Mobile apps to provide Telehealth and remote patient care capabilities.

Suman Puthana received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in 1998. Suman also received an MS in Economics from the same institution in the same year. In 2000, they completed their MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Chicago.
