Jessamy Brown

Jessamy Brown, MA, APR, currently serves as the Director of Public Relations at Cook Children's Health Care System, where leadership of the external communications team encompasses media relations and crisis communications strategy. Previously, a Corporate Communications Manager at the same organization, Jessamy developed internal communication strategies aligned with the organization's mission. Jessamy is also an Adjunct Instructor of Mass Communication at Texas Wesleyan University, teaching an online course in Social Media. Prior experience includes a decade at JPS Health Network, where roles spanned from Public Relations Specialist to Communications Specialist, focusing on media relations and patient communications. A longstanding career in journalism features nearly two decades as an Education Reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and teaching newsgathering skills at Texas Christian University. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication and Innovation from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Arts in US History and communications from Hampshire College.
