Carmalitha L. Gumbs

Carmalitha L. Gumbs, MBA, MHA, currently serves as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Sonder Health Plans, a position held since February 2024. Gumbs has also been a City Councilwoman for the City of South Fulton, Georgia, since May 2017. Previously, Gumbs held roles including Head of Community Engagement and Partnerships at Clover Health, Cultural and Community Affairs Manager at ChenMed, and Chief of Staff - Communications Director for DeKalb County Government. Additional experience includes strategic communications management at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and marketing roles with The Collaborative Firm, Liquid Soul Media, and Humana. Gumbs earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University and holds an MBA and a Master of Public Health from Strayer University.
