Damiano Lotteria is an accomplished professional in the humanitarian sector with extensive experience in program management and regional oversight. Currently serving as Area Manager for West Africa at COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale since January 2021, Damiano previously held various roles within COOPI, including Regional Program Advisor for West Africa and Country Director for the Central African Republic. Additional experience includes consultancy positions focused on the Syria Refugee Crisis and East Africa Program, as well as a tenure as Food Security Program Manager in Mauritania. Damiano's educational background includes a Master's Degree in Humanitarian Studies from the University of Geneva and a Laurea in Political Economics, Development Economics, and International Development from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna.

COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale
COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale is an Italian humanitarian organization, founded by Father Vincenzo Barbieri in 1965. Over the last 55 years, COOPI has aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty and supporting population affected by wars, socio-economic crisis or disasters in order to encourage resilience and sustainable development. COOPI is currently involved in 33 countries in Africa, Middle East, Latin America and Caribbean with 242 humanitarian projects that reach 6,1 million people. COOPI operates with an integrated approach, based on the merging of multiple sectors, such as food security, nutritional security, water and sanitation, protection and education, energy access. By doing so, the Organization is able to provide support to people in need in a more structured way, both in development and emergency contexts. From 1965 to date, COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale has helped 110 million people in 72 Countries, by employing 65,000 local workers in 2,400 projects.
