Digital Financial Services Operations Lead-Uganda at Copia Global

Henrie Omiat has over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry. Henrie began their career in 2008 as a Regional Team Leader for MTN Mobile Money at Top Image Africa Limited, where they were responsible for the effective rollout and management of agents. Henrie was also responsible for introducing MTN Mobile Money in Eastern Uganda, and trained the first MTN Mobile Money account handler. In 2010, Omiat moved to Warid Telecom as a Territory Sales Manager for WaridPesa Mobile Money. There, they were responsible for formulating, implementing, and coordinating the setup and rollout of mobile money delivery channels and agent networks in the assigned territory. Omiat achieved success in business development, relationship building and management, and territory management. In 2013, they moved to Uganda Telecom Ltd as a Business Development Manager for Msente Mobile Money. In 2017, they became a Financial Inclusion (Agent Banking) Supervisor at Centenary Bank, where they were in charge of 15 staff members, guiding and offering class and regular face-to-face business training. In 2019, Omiat moved to Airtel Africa as a Merchant Acquisition Manager for Airtel Mobile Money. In 2021, they joined Wave Mobile Money as a Distribution Lead. Currently, Omiat is a Digital Financial Services Operations Lead-Uganda at Copia Global.

Henrie Omiat's education history includes a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Makerere University (2004-2007), a Master of Business Administration - MBA from Uganda Martyrs University (2018-2020), and a Certificate from Gateway Academy of the World Bank in Partnership with Helix Institute of Digital Finance in Essentials of Digital Financial Services (DFS) and Agent Networks (2017). Additionally, Henrie has obtained two certifications: Metanomics and Digital Trends from Zhejiang University in 2022, and Essentials of Digital Financial Services & Agent Networks from The Helix Institute at MSC. Henrie's primary and secondary education includes Swaria Primary School in Uganda and Teso College Aloet.
