Chris Drye

Manager of Engineering and Innovation at Copp Systems

Chris Drye has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Chris started their career at Copp Systems in 2000 as a CAD Administrator, where they were responsible for creating and editing drawings for various systems within the company. Chris also designed specialized parts and furniture specified by engineers. In 2015, they transitioned to the role of CAD Engineer, focusing on creating 3D drawings for system presentation and design. From 2017 to 2019, Chris worked as a Systems Engineer at Copp Systems, providing pre and post-sales support for fire alarm, CCTV, security, access control, nurse call, and multimedia systems. Chris also took on project management responsibilities and assisted with training on new products. In 2019, they became a Fire & Life Safety Project Engineer, a position they held until 2022 when they were promoted to Manager of Engineering and Innovation. Outside of Copp Systems, Chris also worked as a Technical Production Designer at Tipp City United Methodist Church from 2008 to 2012, where they were responsible for designing and producing graphics and videos for the church's contemporary service. Prior to that, they served as House Sound Designer at Town Hall Theatre from 1997 to 2002, overseeing the sound design for nine shows annually.

Chris Drye obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatrical Design & Technology with an Emphasis in Sound Design from Wright State University, from the years 1995 to 2000. In addition to this degree, Chris also holds two additional certifications. In January 2019, Chris obtained the certification of Fire Alarm System Designer from the State of Ohio. In February 2019, Chris obtained the NICET IV (Fire Alarm Systems) certification from NICET.
