Rich Williams

Rich Williams is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in data science and ecology. As the Chief Technology Officer at Vibrant Data Labs since January 2024, and a Computational Ecologist at Coral Gardeners, Rich specializes in analyzing underwater video and hydrophone data to support reef restoration efforts. Rich has co-founded 3BL Labs/EvolutionXD, where the focus is on developing a platform for scientific data sharing. A consultant with Context Leadership and former Staff Data Scientist at Joby Aviation, Rich has also held significant roles at Phylagen Inc, Resideo, Rakuten Intelligence, and VibrantData, contributing to advanced machine learning projects and environmental microbiome classification. Rich holds a PhD in Physical Oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography and dual degrees (BS and MS) in Ocean Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
