Shannon Staton, PharmD, MBA

Shannon Staton, PharmD, MBA, has a wealth of experience in the higher ed technology industry, pharmacy and health science programs, and business development.

In 2016, they began working as a Senior Account Executive for CORE Higher Education Group, where they served as a trusted advisor for new and existing academic and corporate partners. Shannon then became the Senior Director of Pharmacy & Healthcare Solutions, providing application support, tools, and resources to create a seamless user experience. Additionally, they developed and managed READINESS, a digital eLearning platform, launching it in three distinct market sectors.

In 2017, Staton began working as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, mentoring and teaching students on APPEs about the business of pharmacy and healthcare technology. Shannon also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member (Preceptor) at the University of Saint Joseph, and as Executive Secretary for the Rhode Island Pharmacists Association.

Prior to their current roles, Staton worked as a Pharmacist for Ahold Delhaize from 2015 to 2016, a Business Development Associate for Long Built Homes from 2005 to 2011, and a Pharmacy Intern for CVS Caremark Corporation from 2011 to 2015.

Shannon Staton, PharmD, MBA has a comprehensive education history. Shannon obtained their High School Diploma from Bishop Stang High School in 2007. Shannon then went on to the University of Rhode Island - College of Business, where they earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration and Management, General in 2011. Shannon continued their education at the University of Rhode Island, obtaining their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2016. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from the University of Saint Joseph in 2016. Staton has also obtained several certifications, including Integrative Pharmacy Specialist Certification from PharmCon in 2021, Pain Management Specialty Pharmacist Certification from PharmCon in 2020, Registered Pharmacist from the Rhode Island Board of Pharmacy in 2016, and SEO Optimization from LinkedIn Learning.
