Shawn Koonin

Shawn Koonin is an experienced technology professional with a diverse background in site reliability engineering, DevOps, and IT systems management. Currently a Staff Site Reliability Engineer at Core Scientific, Shawn has developed an extensive automation framework using GitHub Actions and managed a complex hybrid private cloud Kubernetes environment. Previously at Tumblr, Shawn focused on mobile release engineering and migrated CI/CD processes to a cloud-based platform while enhancing infrastructure and monitoring systems. Earlier experience includes roles at Success Academy Charter Schools providing tech support and systems administration for a large staff and student base, and Apple, delivering high-level customer service. Shawn began a career in digital content management at Universal Motown & Republic Group, significantly improving subscriber engagement. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in English and Cinema Studies from Rutgers University.
