Alice T. Um is currently a Machine Learning Engineer at Cornell Data Science, contributing to the development of a web application that employs YOLOv5 for identifying mathematical equations from PDF inputs. Additionally, Alice serves as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Computer Systems Laboratory within Cornell University College of Engineering, focusing on analyzing biological bee data using YOLO v3. Previously, Alice held the position of Sponsorship Lead and Website Subteam Member for Cornell Electric Vehicles, a project team dedicated to designing electric vehicles. Earlier research experience includes working as a Student Researcher for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, developing a circular thermoelectric generator to recycle waste thermal energy from automobile exhaust. Alice is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University, expected to graduate in May 2025.
