Andrew Thwaites

Andrew Thwaites is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the telecommunications and electrical sectors. Currently serving as a Design Specialist at Cornerstone (CTIL) since June 2017, Andrew previously held roles in design engineering and multi-skilled engineering, demonstrating versatility across various positions. Andrew's career includes significant contributions as a Senior Field Engineer at Ericsson, specializing in end-to-end fault resolution within the UK's mobile phone networks and expertise in multivendor BTS/RBS equipment. Earlier roles included work as a Cellular Radio Field Engineer at British Telecom plc and as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Cellnet (O2), focused on fault management and installation. Andrew's foundational work began with BT, progressing from a Technical Officer following an apprenticeship. Academic qualifications include an Engineer’s Degree from Merton Technical College and City & East London College, complemented by a City & Guilds qualification in IEE regulations.
