Michael Ocando has over 20 years of work experience in the field of engineering. Michael began their career in 2000 as a Project Engineer with UPS, where they worked in the Plant Engineering department within a package facility and was later promoted to the corporate office in Atlanta. In 2002, they completed a research assistantship at North Carolina State University, where they designed and developed a system for testing shape memory alloy embedded tire rubber. In 2007, they joined Siemens Industry as a Senior Systems Engineer. Since 2012, they have been a Mechanical Engineer with Cornerstone Automation Systems Inc., designing automated material handling systems for manufacturers and distributors.
Michael Ocando received their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University from 1999 to 2002. Michael then attended North Carolina State University from 2002 to 2004 and earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, they attended the University of Southern Maine from 1997 to 1999.
