Cornerstones
Bill Threlkeld has a diverse work experience. Bill started their career as a Planner at Stafford County in 1985. Bill then worked as a Research Assistant at Rutgers University from 1988 to 1989. After that, they joined the Peace Corps and served as a Community Education Volunteer from 1989 to 1991 and as a Volunteer Coordinator for the Education Program from 1991 to 1992. In 1993, they co-founded the Center for the Support of Native Lands, where they served as a Geographer and Administrator until 2005. Since 2005, they have been working at Cornerstones, initially as the Director of Project Hope & Harmony until 2007. Bill then took on various roles, including Director of Neighborhood Resources from 2007 to 2011, Division Director of Neighborhood Resources from 2011 to 2018, and Division Director of Community Building and Self-Sufficiency Programs from 2018 to 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Community Building and Neighborhood Resources at Cornerstones.
Bill Threlkeld attended Cave Spring High School from 1976 to 1980. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography at James Madison University, which they completed from 1980 to 1984. Later, they pursued further education at Rutgers University - Camden, earning a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration (MPP) from 1988 to 1992.

For nearly 50 years, Cornerstones has been helping neighbors in need overcome tough economic times in an already high cost-of-living region. The service area of Cornerstones has grown to include most of northwestern Fairfax County. Each of us can become a Cornerstone and continue our history of helping people build more stable lives by connecting them to vital resources that solve their needs for housing, childcare, food or financial assistance.
