Matt Walpole serves as Chief Executive at Cornwall Wildlife Trust since September 2022. Previously, Walpole held the role of Global Strategist at WWF from May 2021 to August 2022 and was Senior Director of Conservation Programmes at Fauna & Flora International from June 2017 to April 2021. In earlier positions, Walpole worked as Director of Partnerships & Development at UNEP-WCMC, overseeing fundraising and external engagement, and led the Ecosystem Assessment Programme. Walpole's additional experience includes roles at Fauna & Flora International focusing on biodiversity and human needs, and extensive research experience at the University of Kent related to applied research and nature-based tourism. Walpole earned a PhD in Nature-Based Tourism and holds a BA in Natural Sciences with a focus on Zoology.
