Kirshni Totaram Cfa, Fia

Kirshni Totaram, CFA, FIA has extensive work experience in various roles within the financial industry. Kirshni is currently serving as a Non-Executive Director at Gen Re since January 2018. Prior to that, Kirshni was with Coronation Fund Managers where they held the position of Global Head of Institutional Business starting from July 2000. Kirshni also worked as a Portfolio Manager for the Coronation Property Equity Fund during the same time period. Before joining Coronation, Kirshni worked at Metropolitan as an Actuarial Consultant in the AIDS Research Unit from August 1997 to April 2000. Kirshni was responsible for modifying and enhancing the Metropolitan-Doyle model, conducting research and consulting on the economic and demographic impact of the epidemic. While at Metropolitan, Kirshni was commissioned by the UNDP and UNAIDS to write a brief on AIDS and the insurance industry's contributions to HIV/AIDS and Human Development in South Africa. Kirshni began their career at Sanlam, where they worked as a Senior Actuarial Assistant from February 1995 to July 1997.

Kirshni Totaram, CFA, FIA has a strong educational background in Actuarial Science. Kirshni obtained their Bachelor of Economic Science degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, where they focused on Actuarial Science from 1992 to 1994. Following their undergraduate studies, Kirshni pursued further professional qualifications, earning the title of Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2002. Additionally, they became a CFA Charterholder from the CFA Institute in 2004.
