John Welkie

John is a Managing Director in their Capital Markets Accounting Advisory practice and brings over 10 years of experience providing audit and accounting advisory services to public, private, and non-profit organizations of all sizes. His industry experience includes the technology, manufacturing, healthcare, and higher education sectors. John assists clients with technical accounting analyses in complex areas such as EPS, debt offerings, preferred stock, SPAC warrants, and stock-based compensation.

John’s skills include technical accounting; SEC reporting; inventory and cost accounting; revenue recognition; ASC 842 leases; share-based compensation; and convertible debt offerings.

Before joining CFGI, John worked as a Senior Manager in PwC’s Philadelphia and NYC offices. During that time, John performed 10-K audits and 10-Q reviews by Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAP). John was responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of engagements and coordinating the work of audit teams, including engagement economics, task delegation, documentation review, training, coaching, issues resolution, audit committee communications, and preparation of audit deliverables.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Villanova University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
