Patrick J. McClughan

Patrick J. McClughan has a diverse work experience in various industries and leadership roles. Patrick J. is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at Corre Energy, where they play a vital role in developing and operating grid-scale underground energy storage using hydrogen-fuelled Compressed Air Energy Storage. Prior to that, McClughan founded Statum and served as the Founder. Patrick J. also held the position of Vice Chairman at NI Investment Fund and Non-Executive Director at ICC Belfast | Waterfront Hall | Ulster Hall.

In addition, McClughan has been an active member of the Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council) as a Director on the Board of Directors. This organization focuses on providing guidance and promoting the deployment of long-duration energy storage to replace fossil fuels and accelerate carbon neutrality.

McClughan's past experience includes working as a Consultant at EirGrid and Western Building Systems Ltd. Patrick J. also held the position of Head of Corporate Affairs at Gaelectric, where they provided advice on infrastructure development, property law, planning, and construction activities. Additionally, McClughan served as the Vice Chairperson at HELM HOUSING LIMITED and Chairman of NIRIG, the Northern Ireland Renewables Industry Group.

Patrick J. completed their secondary education there and then went on to South Eastern Regional College from 1992 to 1994, where they obtained a National Diploma in Construction & the Built Environment. Following that, they attended Ulster University from 1994 to 1997 and earned a BSc in BPE with a focus on Construction/Engineering.

In 2014, Patrick pursued further education at the William J Clinton Leadership Institute at Queens. However, it is not specified whether they obtained a degree.
