Raul Velloso

Raul Velloso has had a distinguished career in economics, serving as Presidente of Fórum Nacional INAE since 2019, and previously as a speaker and board member since 1988. Velloso is a member of the Academia Parnaibana de Letras, occupying chair 17 since March 2023. As an economic columnist, Velloso contributes to Jornal O Dia, Correio Braziliense, ESTADÃO, and S.A. Estado de Minas. Velloso has been an independent economic consultant since 1985, and held various positions at the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management, including Secretary for Economic Affairs and later Deputy National Secretary. Velloso's early career included a role as Coordinator of Sectors at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea). Academically, Velloso earned a PhD and a master's degree in Economics from Yale University, as well as a master's degree in Economics from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas.
