Emad Lababidi has over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Emad began their career in 1996 as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Datascope, where they worked on process validations and designed and developed custom made machines, instruments and fixtures utilized during manufacturing. In 1998, they joined Hewlett-Packard Medical Product Group as a Manufacturing Development/Material Engineer, where they were responsible for product/process validations of several product lines of innovative devices. In 1999, they joined PAREXEL as a Senior Quality System Specialist, where they designed, prepared, implemented and managed quality systems, including document control and change control. In 2003, they became Quality Assurance Manager at MedSource Technologies, Inc., where they managed the Quality Assurance department and maintained compliance with Quality System as defined by 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 9001: ISO 13485, MDD, AIMD Directive 90/385/EEC and other quality standards. In 2004, they joined DUSA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as Quality Assurance Manager, where they provided leadership and management for the development, product transfer and manufacture of medical devices in an FDA QSR, ISO 13485 regulated facility. In 2005, they joined Proven Process Medical Devices as Quality Assurance Manager, where they managed the Quality Assurance department and maintained compliance with Quality System as defined by 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 9001: ISO 13485, MDD, AIMD Directive 90/385/EEC and other quality standards. In 2006, they joined AdvanDx as Director, Regulatory and Quality, where they managed the Regulatory and Quality Assurance departments and maintained compliance with the FDA Part 820, ISO 9001: ISO 13485 and the European Directive and other quality standards. In 2015, they joined ProTom International as Director, Regulatory and Quality, where they worked with a highly innovative team on the development of proton therapy medical device system and managed the Regulatory and Quality Assurance departments. In 2017, they joined Philips as Senior Consultant. Project Manager. Emad is currently the Director of Quality at Corvia Medical Inc. since 2019.
Emad Lababidi has a long history of education. Emad received a MET degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology between 1986 and 1990. Emad then went on to receive a Graduate Certificate in Manufacturing Engineering from Tufts University in 1993. After that, they earned a Master's degree in Engineering Management from Tufts University between 2000 and 2002. Finally, they earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University between 2011 and 2013.
