Vincent Weafer

Vincent Weafer is currently the CTO at Corvus Insurance. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President - Cyber Engineering at Capital One from January 2019 to December 2021. In this role, they managed a complex organization of software engineers as well as cyber, technology, and ML engineers focused on threat and risk mitigation controls for multiple security domains, including data protection, application security, security scanning, and detection and mitigation as well as network and perimeter security platforms. Vincent also worked closely with CISO and divisional line of business CIOs to set security strategy and continue close integration of security controls and scanning throughout design, development, test, and release cycles.

During their time at Capital One, Vincent was responsible for establish new design standards for bot and WAF protection, and migrating a significant number of production applications behind the new centralized network service. Vincent also rolled out key security controls for containers and endpoint detection and response across the enterprise, migrated to a next-gen SIEM solution, and integrated SAST, SCA, and DAST scanning into managed and automated development pipelines.

Vincent Weafer has a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University. Vincent is certified by Amazon Web Services in AWS Certified Security - Specialty and AWS Solutions Architect - Associate. Vincent is also certified by (ISC)² in CISSP.
