Sanjay Padhi

Sanjay Padhi, Ph.D. is Chief Technology Officer at Tag.bio, where he leads engineering, product strategy, and customer delivery for the company’s AI-driven self-service Data Analytics Platform. His work spans AI/ML, Generative AI, and AI Agents, with applications across healthcare, life sciences, and regulated industries. Previously, Dr. Padhi built and scaled AWS Research at Amazon Web Services, delivering purpose-built cloud and AI products and partnered with the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Energy (DOE), and other global agencies. He spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives including Biomedical Research Hubs, Health AI, CloudBank, and quantum computing pilots, and drove the development of some of the largest HPC and AI systems in the cloud.

Earlier in his career, he was a scientist at CERN, where he contributed to the 2012 discovery of the Higgs boson and led international teams of more than 400 researchers at CERN, DESY, and Brookhaven National Lab. He co-designed and managed global distributed computing platforms that enabled 4,000+ scientists across 40+ countries to analyze petabytes of particle physics data.

Dr. Padhi serves on scientific and advisory committees for the National Academies of Science, NSF, NIH, CERN, the European Commission, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHEP). Recognized as a Distinguished Scientist, he has authored over 1000 publications with an h-index of 200, reflecting broad impact across AI, cloud computing, and physics. He holds a Ph.D. in High Energy Physics from McGill University.
