Shawn Staples

Shawn Staples is a Senior Trial Attorney at Costello Ginex & Wideikis, PC since December 2021, specializing in complex commercial litigation, appellate litigation, and professional malpractice defense. Prior to this role, Shawn was a Partner at Much Shelist from October 2008 to December 2021, gaining extensive courtroom experience. Earlier professional experience includes an Associate Attorney position at Quinlan & Carroll, Ltd., where Shawn drafted various legal documents for the Illinois Supreme Court, and a Senior-Certified Intern role at the Scott County Attorney's Office in Davenport, Iowa, conducting jury trials and second-chairing felony trials. Shawn holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Creighton University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Philosophy, and History from St. Ambrose University.
