Shelby Broger has a varied work experience. In 2012, they worked as an Assistant Supervisor/ Senior Mental Health Specialist at Louisiana Methodist Children's Home, where they supported the adoption of Cornell University's C.A.R. From 2013 to 2014, they were an Office Manager at Shreveport Therapy and a Caregiver/Nanny. In 2015, they worked as an ACT Prep Instructor at The Princeton Review. From 2016 to 2018, they were an Elementary School Teacher at Caddo Public Schools, a Teacher, Tutor, and Editor at Life in Bloom, and a Case Manager at Southern Ingenuity, LLC. From 2020 to present, they have been the Owner, Educator at Miss Shelby's Tutoring Service and a Product Associate at Coton Colors.

Shelby Broger has a diverse educational background. Shelby first attended Airline High School, where they earned their High School Diploma in Psychology in 2009. Shelby then attended Bossier Parish Community College from 2005 to 2009, where they studied Psychology. In 2009, Shelby earned their Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Studies from Louisiana Tech University. From 2016 to 2018, Shelby attended Centenary College of Louisiana, where they studied Special Education and Teaching. Additionally, Shelby has obtained certifications from Coursera, The Princeton Review, IBM, the Louisiana Department of Health, the American Red Cross, and the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home.
