Stuart Joyce

Commercial Director & Director of Fieldwork at Cotswold Archaeology

Stuart joined Cotswold Archaeology in 2005 as an Archaeologist and worked his way up through the company to become Commercial Director in 2021. He is responsible for the operational leadership and financial oversight of the fieldwork projects. He approves large and complex tenders and evaluates the trading performance and cost efficiency. He is responsible for the profitable delivery of the major contracts and the cohesion and functionality of fieldwork projects delivered from the four offices. Stuart is the Senior Management Group champion for Occupational Health and Safety and a member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA).

Stuart has an extensive track record in managing major fieldwork projects, especially those associated with infrastructure schemes. Selected projects include the London to West Midlands section of the HS2 railway; works associated with a new potash mine in the North York Moors National Park; M11 Junction 7a Improvement, Essex; A120 Hadham Bypass, Hertfordshire, and A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Bypass.
