Carolyn Swabek has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Starting in 2010, they served as a Creative Assistant at Happen, Inc. Carolyn then worked as a Special Assistant to the President at the International Institute of Wisconsin from September 2010 to May 2012. In 2011, they served as the Secretary on the Board of Directors at the Milwaukee Area Time Exchange. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Development Officer at Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin and later as a Program Coordinator at the Global Youth Leadership Institute. In 2013, they served as the Outreach Coordinator on the Board of Directors at Slow Food Wisconsin Southeast. Carolyn then joined the Fund Development Corporation as a Senior Associate from June 2014 to June 2016. Concurrently, from June 2016 to June 2019, they worked as an Assistant Director of the Trinity Fellows Program at Marquette University. From July 2019 to March 2022, they were promoted to Director of the Trinity Fellows Program at Marquette University. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Community Engagement at CAEL since March 2022. Throughout their career, they have also worked as an RYT-200 Yoga Instructor at various locations from June 2016 to March 2022.
Carolyn Swabek has a strong background in education. Carolyn earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Organizational Communication from Ohio University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Following that, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Public Service-Nonprofit Leadership at Marquette University from 2010 to 2012. In addition to their academic achievements, Carolyn Swabek also holds a certification as a Certified Empowered Cultivator, which they obtained from Canvas Credentials (Badgr) in December 2022.
