A 1973 graduate of the University of West Florida, Paul Lewis’ areas of study included philosophy, psychology and art. He did postgraduate study at both Duke and Northwestern Universities. Lewis moved to Tallahassee in 1995 after assuming the Director of Regulatory Affairs position with Duke Energy Florida. His career with Florida Power Corporation and Duke Energy spans nearly 40 years though he retired from the corporate world in 2014. Lewis has served with multiple community service organizations including as the President of the Mary Brogan Museum of Arts and Science in Tallahassee. His legacy project was establishing and serving as the founding president and board chairman of the Main Street Winter Garden project. Among other efforts to bring redevelopment and revitalization to the historic downtown district, he assisted in creating a community redevelopment taxing authority that began a funding mechanism for future redevelopment.
Paul Lewis, Jr. has served on the COCA Board of Directors since 2019.
