Jacqueline Pfeffer Merrill, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of the Campus Free Expression Project at the Council of Independent Colleges since July 2024. Previously, Jacqueline held a similar position at the Bipartisan Policy Center from November 2018 to July 2024. Jacqueline has extensive experience in the academic field, having served as Executive Director and Vice President of Development at the American Council of Trustees and Alumni from August 2012 to November 2018, and as a professor at St. John's College and The College of William & Mary. Jacqueline began their career in education as an instructor at the University of Calgary and has contributed to various organizations as a consultant and contributor, with a focus on philanthropy and higher education. Jacqueline earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from Duke University and a First Class Honours BA in Political Science and Pure Mathematics from the University of Calgary.
