Vanessa Long

Vanessa Long, MTA, serves as the Manager of State Council Programs at The Council of Independent Colleges since January 2015, where responsibilities include overseeing grant programs, scholarships, member services, and special events for state fund associations nationwide. As the Managing Partner of Houses in the Ruff, LLC since October 2011, Vanessa specializes in real estate negotiating, contracts, hard money lending, and property flipping. Previous experience includes roles as Office Assistant at the American Association of Community from October 2012 to January 2015, Event and Outreach Coordinator at DC Bar from 2010 to 2011, and Convention Services Coordinator at Omni Shoreham Hotel from June 2008 to April 2010. Vanessa holds a Master in Tourism Administration from The George Washington University School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Delaware State University.
