Liza Drius is a seasoned professional in digital content and governance, currently serving as Head of Sector at the Council of the European Union since October 2019. Prior to this role, Liza held various positions at the European Commission, including Programme Officer, Online Editor and Web Content Manager, and Communication Officer and Speechwriter from January 2014 to September 2019. Liza's earlier experience includes working as EU Communications Coordinator at the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and serving as an International Volunteer at the National Council for Gender Equality. Liza's initial experience in the United Nations involved an internship at the United Nations Office of Sport for Development and Peace. Academically, Liza holds a Masters of Arts in International Politics from the Centre Européen de Recherches Internationales et Stratégiques, along with a Master's in Conference Interpreting and a Bachelor's in Translation and Interpreting from Università degli Studi di Trieste.
