Alka Pateriya

Alka Pateriya is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Director of Strategy and Partnerships at the Council of the Great City Schools since November 2021. Pateriya has held various leadership roles at Tripod Education Partners from September 2014 to August 2021, including President and Vice President. Prior to this, Pateriya operated as an independent consultant and was a Senior Study Director at Westat, overseeing notable projects funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Additional experience includes roles as an Education Specialist at the National Council for History Education, an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University, and Dean of Students at SEED Public Charter School of Washington DC. Pateriya began a career in education as a teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Northwestern University and a Master of Education in Secondary Education/Social Studies from The George Washington University.
