Abi McGowan is a Global Conflict Analyst at the Council on Foreign Relations since August 2022, previously serving as a Research Associate focused on Southeast Asia and U.S. Foreign Policy. Prior experiences include a role as a Staff Intern at The Wilson Center, a Research Consultant for the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ireland, and an Academic Success Mentor with AmeriCorps. In the summer of 2020, Abi interned in Political Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra and has also held positions at the U.S. Embassy in Dublin and as a Public Affairs Intern. Abi's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Political Science from The Ohio State University and a Master's degree in Global Security and Borders from Queen's University Belfast.
