Sami Thurber

Sami Thurber currently serves as the Associate Director of Corporate Member Relations at the Council on Foreign Relations since March 2025. Prior experience includes roles as Southern Regional Director for the Democratic National Committee from February 2023 to December 2024 and Relational Manager at Relentless in late 2022, where skills in managing teams and organizing voter outreach were honed. As Finance Director for the Alabama Democratic Party from February 2021 to August 2022, fundraising strategies were implemented, significantly increasing revenue. Notably, during the Doug Jones for Senate Campaign, Sami raised a record-breaking $35 million, including $1.3 million for Alabama, and organized impactful fundraising events. Previous roles include leadership positions at Impact America, Vital Voices Global Partnership, and the University of Virginia Center for Global Health. Sami holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a focus on Public Health from the University of Virginia.
