Eddie Shimkus

Eddie Shimkus is a seasoned professional in government affairs, currently serving as Senior Manager at the Council on Foundations since August 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Legislative Advisor in the Office of Congressional Relations at USDA from May 2021 to July 2023, and as Legislative Director for Congressman Sander M. Levin from May 2016 to January 2019. Eddie held various roles, including Legislative Director and Assistant, for Congressman Tim Bishop from January 2007 to January 2015, following an earlier position as Manager of Presidential Communications at The George Washington University in 2015. Eddie's career began with positions at Tim Bishop for Congress and MCB Consulting, Inc. Eddie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from American University, earned between 2002 and 2006.
