Council on Foundations
Melissa Nolan is an experienced professional in community engagement and leadership within the nonprofit sector. Currently, as the Manager of Engagement at the Council on Foundations since October 2021, Melissa facilitates connections among members to foster a strong sense of community. Prior experience includes serving as the Director of Engagement at Philanthropy Delaware, where Melissa enhanced member experiences and led educational initiatives. As a 2020 Fellow with Leadership Delaware, Inc., Melissa developed leadership skills aimed at community transformation. Earlier roles included working as a Loan Specialist at USDA Rural Development, conducting research at the Institute of Public Administration, and supporting legislative efforts as an intern with Virginia State legislators. Melissa holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government and Philosophy from the University of Lynchburg.
