County of Lake
Mary Brown is a seasoned social worker with extensive experience in child protective services and social work across multiple counties in California. Currently serving as a Social Worker at the County of Lake since December 2019, Mary has previously held positions as a Social Worker IV in the Family and Children's Services Emergency Response Unit for the County of Mendocino, and as a Social Worker Supervisor I managing the Ft. Bragg office. Mary's career began in 1993 with the County of Lake, where responsibilities included investigating child abuse complaints and providing case management services. Additionally, Mary has held various administrative and customer service roles early in their career. Education includes ongoing studies in social services through UC Davis Extension, complemented by earlier studies at West Valley College.

The County of Lake provides a variety of services to Lake County residents and visitors, including public protection, health and sanitation, public assistance, libraries, agricultural assistance, parks, recreational and cultural activities, elections, planning, behavioral health services, and infrastructure. Many of the the County's services are provided Countywide, while others are provided only to the residents of the unincorporated areas.
