Melanie Thompson

Melanie Thompson is currently serving as the Deputy Public Health Officer at the County of Marin, Department of Health and Human Services since October 2024. Prior to this role, Melanie held various positions at Marin Community Clinics from August 2015 to November 2024, including Chief Medical Officer, Associate Chief Medical Officer, Regional Medical Director & Family Medicine Physician, and Family Physician. Melanie completed a residency in Family Medicine at UCSF Medical Center Fresno from June 2012 to July 2015. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine (2007-2011), completion of the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of California, Fresno (2012-2015), and currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of California, Berkeley, anticipated completion in July 2025.
