Courtney McDonald is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public service and community development. Currently serving as Chief of Staff for the Health and Human Services Agency in San Diego since July 2022, McDonald previously held the role of Executive Coordinator in the same agency. Notable prior positions include Associate Director of Housing Stability and Partnerships at Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco, where program development focused on housing for individuals experiencing homelessness, and Legislative Aide for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, leading policy strategies in social services and housing. McDonald has also served as Campaign Manager for Haney for Supervisor, Marketing and Development Manager for Genesys Works - Bay Area, and in numerous grassroots organizing roles that expanded public support and funding for various initiatives. McDonald earned dual degrees in Peace and Conflict Studies, and Society and Environment from the University of California, Berkeley.
