Fernanda Lopez

Fernanda Lopez is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in journalism and public relations. Currently serving as the Group Communications Officer for the County of San Diego since July 2022, Lopez has previously held the position of Public Relations and Communications Manager at the Helen Woodward Animal Center from July 2018 to July 2022. Prior to that, Lopez worked as a Reporter/Anchor at KRQE News for two years, anchoring weekend morning newscasts and delivering compelling stories. Lopez also has experience from KNDU-TV as a Morning Anchor/Producer/Reporter and has contributed to various media outlets, including Direct Community Video and El Observador. Lopez holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Journalism from San José State University and an Associate of Arts in Journalism from Los Medanos College.
