Mike Madrid, AICP, currently serves as the Group Program Manager for Long Range Planning with the County of San Diego, overseeing project alignment, budgets, and quality performance across a diverse range of long range planning projects. Madrid has a strong background in mentorship and team development, having managed and trained multiple planners in the Housing & Transportation section, while also leading various planning projects including the General Plan updates and ordinance drafting. Prior experience includes senior planning roles with the City of Greenwood Village and Jefferson County, Colorado, where accomplishments included implementing innovative planning tools, revising zoning codes, and managing community-engaged development cases. Madrid holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Design, Housing and Community Development from Arizona State University.
