Jim Merklin has extensive experience in leadership and governance across various organizations, currently serving as a Board Member for the County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board since July 2020. As the Owner of Bober, Markey, Fedorovich & Company since October 1997, Jim leads a firm that excels in accounting, tax, and consulting services. Jim's previous roles include significant contributions as Board Chair for United Way of Summit County, where recruitment efforts for the Tocqueville Society were notably successful, and leadership in various capacities with organizations such as Leadership Akron, NEOMED Foundation, and Community Support Services, Inc. Jim holds a Master's degree in Accountancy from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, obtained between 1981 and 1986.

The County of Summit ADM Board is responsible for planning, funding, monitoring and evaluating treatment, prevention and support services for people who experience alcoholism, drug addiction and/or mental illness. The ADM Board does not provide any direct service, but contracts with local agencies to provide quality, affordable services for people at critical times in their lives. The ADM Board system of services provides opportunities for recovery and hope for a better life.
