Claire Smith

Claire Smith is an experienced professional with a strong background in community management and education. Currently serving as Manager of Community Success at Coursera since September 2015, Claire focuses on building communities that support learners in achieving their educational goals. Prior to Coursera, Claire held the position of Community Experience Lead at Storenvy, where the emphasis was on enhancing trust among small business owners and shoppers. As the Owner and Jewelry Designer at Embergrass Jewelry, Claire successfully managed a profitable business. Claire's early career included teaching science and chemistry at The Chalfonts Community College and The Clarendon Academy, where responsibilities included curriculum coordination and mentoring trainee teachers. Claire holds a PGCE in Science and a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Bath.
