Anastasia Ward B.L. currently serves as an Assistant Principal Officer - High Court Registrar at the Courts Service since August 2022 and is a Director and Chair of the Accreditation Committee for the Irish Professional Mediators' Organisation since November 2021. Previously, Anastasia functioned as a Trade Union Official for the Irish National Teachers' Organisation until July 2022 and was a Council Member for Water Safety Ireland from February 2017 to April 2022. Anastasia also has extensive academic experience as a Program Leader for the MA in Dispute Resolution and a Lecturer at Independent College Dublin from November 2007 to November 2021, and practiced as a Barrister at Law with The Bar of Ireland from October 1994 to September 2017. Anastasia's educational background includes a Bachelor of Civil Law from University College Dublin and a Barrister at Law degree from The Honorable Society of King's Inns.

The Courts Service was established as an independent corporate organisation on 9th November, 1999 following the enactment of the Courts Service Act, 1998. We employ around 1,000 staff in 40 locations nationwide. Our functions are: -to manage the courts -to provide support services for the judges -to provide information on the courts system to the public -to provide, manage and maintain court buildings -to provide facilities for users of the courts.
