Amanda Shapiro

Amanda Shapiro has over 14 years of experience in human resources and talent acquisition. Currently, they serve as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Covalent Health, where they oversee human resources for two ambulance companies. Amanda is responsible for implementing a fully integrated HRIS system and improving HR processes.

Prior to Covalent Health, Amanda worked at Yuma Regional Medical Center as the Director of Talent Acquisition and HR Operations. Amanda led a team of recruiters and focused on bringing the best healthcare, IT, and leadership talent to southern Arizona. Amanda also served as the Talent Acquisition Manager, working with a team of professional recruiters to hire top talent for the facility.

Before joining Yuma Regional Medical Center, Amanda worked at Steward Health Care as the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Special Projects. Here, they collaborated with senior executives to streamline the recruitment process and eliminate paper-based approval systems. Amanda also developed a position control tracking system in partnership with the finance team.

Amanda's experience also includes working at Dignity Health as a Senior Recruiter, where they played a pivotal role in opening St. Joseph's Westgate Medical Center. Additionally, they worked at Tenet Healthcare as a Recruiter and Project Manager, overseeing the opening of two emergency centers and managing staffing and hiring.

Earlier in their career, Amanda served as the Director of Allied Health and Nurse Division at InHouse Assist, a retained search firm. Amanda specialized in headhunting and connecting inactive talent with local and national job opportunities.

Throughout their career, Amanda has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a passion for recruiting and helping others.

Amanda Shapiro, MHA holds a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Arkansas Grantham, which they obtained between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Arizona State University, graduating between 2001 and 2006.
