Ech started his career in advertising, living in multiple countries and delivering exceptional results, for industry leading companies such as Procter & Gamble, LG and Walmart, while serving as an executive at Saatchi and Saatchi X. After more than a decade in advertising, he spent five years as President and CMO of a diversified lifestyle business, leading ecommerce, digital media and private brands.
After this, he joined Jet.com and served as Chief Customer Officer where he was responsible for overseeing all customer-facing aspects of Jet’s business, including marketing, brand strategy, media, product, design (ux/ui) and creative. His focus was on giving customers a frictionless experience that engendered loyalty while also ensuring the brand was consistently evolving and growing across major metropolitan markets.
Through Walmart’s acquisition of Jet, Ech became Walmart’s Vice President of Marketing, leading the go to market strategies for Walmart’s food and consumables businesses as well as financial & in-store services and digital acceleration groups
Most recently he architected and led Walmart’s first ever membership program as General Manager for Walmart+, leading the team responsible for the development, growth and economics of the program. This included product strategy, benefits development, partnerships, data science, analytics, marketing, monetization and finance.
