Zack Kaplan

Managing Director & Consumer Team Head at Cove Hill Partners

Zack has spent the last 12 years of his career working with companies at the intersection of consumer, media and technology markets.

Prior to co-founding Cove Hill, Zack spent 8 years at General Atlantic, where he helped lead the global consumer internet and technology investing efforts. While at GA, Zack was involved in 12 new investments, representing over $1.7 billion in deployed capital. His experience included serving as a director or observer for Red Ventures, A Place for Mom, Vox Media, Flipp and SessionM, participating in GA’s first technology investment in Southeast Asia (NYSE: SEA) and working on over half a billion of capital invested in China across the internet and consumer areas. Zack was also named to Forbes’ “30 Under 30” for investing in the next great technology companies. In addition to his investment and portfolio leadership, he also co-led and architected the firm’s analyst-driven sourcing program.

Prior to joining GA, Zack was an investment banker at Greenhill & Co. in the mergers & acquisitions group.

When Zack is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife Nancy, their two children and two Lhasa Apso puppies in the suburbs of New York City. Zack is a member of the Board of Trustees of Kids' B.A.S.E. & The Little School, a Scarsdale preschool and after-school enrichment and care program. Originally born in Washington D.C. he is also an avid fan of D.C. sports teams and is a long-time (poor) ice hockey player, still spending much of his free time at an ice rink.
