Douglas C. Waite

Dr. Douglas C. Waite serves as Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Waite spearheads the system’s overall clinical vision and assists in defining the organization’s business strategy and goals. He provides clinical oversight and valuable strategic direction to all facilities and works to improve clinician alignment, satisfaction and quality for patients and residents.

Prior to joining Covenant Health, Dr. Waite held the role of CMO at St. Vincent Hospital, a member of Tenet Healthcare, in Worcester, MA. During his tenure, he improved efficiency and compliance for medical staff and reduced surgical site infection rates. Dr. Waite graduated from Rutgers Medical School in Newark, NJ. He completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA.

Dr. Waite is an accomplished infectious disease and public health lecturer. He is also deeply committed to community service. He serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Mohegan Council of the Boy Scouts of America and volunteers for the March of Dimes, sitting on the Manchester/Boston Region’s Board of Directors.
