Karen Wood

Researcher at Coventry University

Karen Wood is an experienced researcher and educator in the field of dance, currently serving as a Research Assistant at Coventry University on the Invisible Difference: Dance, Disability and Law project with Professor Sarah Whatley. With a strong background in dance studies, Karen has held various roles including Co-ordinator for the Tap Rhythm Project, Contextual Studies Teacher for the CAT programme at The Lowry, and Senior Dance Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton. Prior experiences also include working as a PhD Researcher, Dance Teacher, Dance Scientist, and Dance Educator at the University of Manchester, as well as serving as an Education Programmer for the Movement on Screen Film Festival and a Dance Science Graduate Assistant at Laban. Karen holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Dance Studies from The University of Manchester and a Master of Science (MSc) in Dance Science from Trinity Laban.
